Terranea Resort adds VP of finance

Adding to its growing team of accomplished hospitality executives, Terranea Resort–a luxury, 582-room oceanfront resort on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Calif.–has named Robert Austin, an executive with a more than 30-year background in the luxury hospitality sector, as its new vice president of finance.

Austin will play a critical role in the creation, execution and refinement of the resort’s core financial strategies including maximizing profitability and working toward Terranea’s common goals and successes, according to Terranea President Ralph Grippo.

“Rob will, no doubt, be an integral part of our team. His hire completes our newly revamped executive team representing some of the most respected professionals in this industry,” Grippo said in a statement. “With outstanding experience in a range of luxury hotels, he is a driven and dynamic leader with a vision for excellence."

Austin was most recently the regional director of finance and business support for Claremont Club and Spa, A Fairmont Hotel. He was area director of finance for Pacific Hospitality Group, director of finance at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, director of finance at The Langham Huntington, and the director of finance and accounting at several luxury InterContinental hotels, including the Mark Hopkins in San Francisco.
