Construction starts on first new-build Hometowne Studios

Construction has begun on a new 124-room HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof in Bradenton, Fla. It's the first new-build property for the brand, which has converted almost 70 hotels to the HomeTowne Studios brand across the country.

The Bradenton property is owned and will be operated by Dhruv Management of Port Richey, Fla., which owns or operates more than 150 hotels nationwide.

“We are excited to partner with Dhruv Management on the development of the first ever new-build HomeTowne Studios hotel,” Michael Sharp, VP of design, construction and procurement at Red Roof, said in a statement. “This latest collaboration between Dhruv Management and Red Roof reflects the continuing strength of the economy extended-stay segment and the attractiveness of HomeTowne Studios for franchisees looking to expand their portfolio with a proven brand. We continue to innovate HomeTowne Studios with cost-cutting and operationally efficient enhancements that make our extended stay option a valuable investment for franchisees.”

Building on the launch of the HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof brand in 2018 and subsequent enhancements to the design made in 2021, the new prototype includes updated guestroom aesthetics. The new prototype has a cost-effective development footprint that emphasizes functionality, such as open shelving with a hexagon design to allow for additional storage space.

Amit Patel, COO of Dhruv Development, said the brand was “perfectly suited” for the Bradenton market. “We are proud to continue and expand our relationship with Red Roof—which includes several additional hotels now under development.”

The new hotel is expected to open in 2023 or early 2024.
