Downright Austin to open this spring

Downright Austin, a Renaissance Hotel, will open this spring. Located in downtown Austin, Texas, Downright Austin will have a bold and postmodern lobby experience, 367 guestrooms with five suites, 31,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event spaces, and new culinary concepts. The property is near the Texas State Capitol and Moody Amphitheater.

“We are thrilled to introduce Downright in the city of Austin and look forward to serving both those traveling and the local community,” Erica Graham, SVP, portfolio management, Brookfield, said in a statement. “Our decision to open in Austin was inspired by the city’s distinct independent spirit and originality. With a commitment to bringing something fresh and dynamic to the lively landscape of Austin, Downright Austin will add an elevated social scene and an exciting calendar of curated programming and events.”

Downright Austin is currently in the final phase of a multimillion-dollar transformation. The renovated property will have an open and airy ambiance, natural terra cotta colors and textures, abundant greenery, natural light and checkerboard design.

Lost Boy & Co., in collaboration with local industry veterans FBR Management, is set to open two dining and cocktail experiences on property. Set in a sunken dining room with submarine views of the adjacent new pool, one of the restaurants will celebrate poolside leisure and summertime fare. Additionally, a new lobby concept complete with a walk-up counter is tailored for locals and hotel guests in search of a quick morning coffee or on-the-go breakfast.
