G6 Hospitality celebrates 1,400th Motel 6 opening

G6 Hospitality, known for its economy lodging brands Motel 6 and Studio 6 in the U.S. and Canada and Hotel 6 and Estudio 6 in Latin America, celebrated the opening of its 1,400th Motel 6 property, which is located in Crowley, La. Prompted by strong growth in the first quarter ended March 31, 2017, the new property is part of 34 new locations opened during this time period and marks a milestone as the brand celebrates its 55th anniversary this year.

“Closing a strong first quarter was necessary to continue the expansion across all brands,” Robert Palleschi, chief development officer of G6 Hospitality, said in a statement. “Our expansion strategy is anchored in maintaining solid franchisee relationships and building new ones as we introduce our portfolio of brands to new markets. We are making headwinds in both domestic and international markets, and are looking forward to a very successful year ahead.”

Most of the 34 franchised properties opened in Q1 in the U.S. and Canada are converted properties, while the venue in Rexburg, Ind., is new construction. All new properties include elements of the “Phoenix” room design, which highlights modern components such as wood-effect flooring, platform beds and flat screen TVs, offering highly functional and space-efficient areas with modern décor to provide extra comfort for budget-conscious travelers.
