Grassi Design Group, DesignONE Studio help design Isla Bella Beach Resort

Isla Bella Beach Resort opened as the newest resort in Florida Keys. Located on Knights Key in Marathon, Fla., near Seven Mile Bridge, Isla Bella was developed by Pritam Singh & The Singh Company.

The lobby and restaurant were designed by DesignOne Studio out of Atlanta, Ga., while the guestrooms and spa were designed by Singh Co. Grassi Design Group handled the architecture.

Set on 24 acres of tropical landscaping and nearly one mile of private beach, Isla Bella has four dining outlets, five swimming pools, over 24,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, on-site water sports, fishing pier, marina and Atlantic Ocean views from all 199 one- to five-bedroom rooms and suites. It also has a spa, fitness center and a marketplace.

The lobby highlights influences drawn from Grecian islands and from Bermuda, with standout features including views of the ocean balanced with neutral tones, reclaimed French herringbone wood floors intermingling with creamy honed marble, and rough-sawn ceiling wood beams. Stacked chiseled marble create a feature textural backdrop for the polished monolithic front desk, while contrasting metals and clean, minimal wall details add to the overall design aesthetic.  Statement pieces include curated local artwork and b&b Italia crinoline chairs.

Key design elements in the guestrooms and suites include decorative archways, reclaimed ship wood, clapboard exteriors and open breezeways to emphasize indoor/outdoor living and the surrounding ocean.

In total, the property has 199 guestrooms including 108 luxe guestrooms, each over 550 square feet, and 92 one-to-five bedroom suites, each with 9-foot ceilings, spa-like bathrooms, ocean views and a private outdoor living space ranging between an additional 80 square feet to 140 square feet, outfitted with lounge-style furnishings. Suites have a separate living area with a pullout queen sleeper sofa that can be combined with adjoining rooms to accommodate up to 14 people. A number of suites also have a kitchen.

For dining, the property has four food and beverage outlets. Il Postino has an oceanfront patio; The Beach Bar, a beachside enclave; The Burger Palace, which is located adjacent to Isla Bella’s main pool; and The Marketplace.

For events, the property has 20,000 square feet of space, including a 4,000-square-foot Hibiscus Center that can host up to 240 people.

The Spa at Isla Bella is a 4,000-square-foot space with five treatment rooms, lounge, couples massage room, steam room and spa garden. A 1,000 square foot fitness center is also available.
