Halekulani Okinawa opens with interiors by Champalimaud Design

Halekulani Okinawa opened on the main island of Okinawa, Japan. It was inspired by its sister property, Halekulani Waikiki on Oahu.

Built to embody an oasis where the sky, land and sea meet, Halekulani Okinawa has 360 guestrooms, inclusive of 47 suites and five cliffside villas, all with views of the sea. The interiors were designed by Champalimaud Design.

The property has four restaurants, as well as a variety of casual dining options. Curated by two Michelin-starred chef Hiroyasu Kawate is Shiroux, meaning "white" in Okinawan. Aomi, inspired by the sea and sky, highlights the color blue, or "Ao" in Japanese. Kingdom has a show kitchen while House Without a Key, named after the restaurant at Halekulani Waikiki, has an outdoor terrace.

Meanwhile, Bar Spectra is situated within a hilltop cove that offers views. The hotel also has the SpaHalekulani.
