Hilton expands in Indiana, Virginia and Texas

Hilton has opened several hotels—and made a notable addition to a soft brand—in the last days of 2021 and the first of 2022.

Indianapolis

Hilton opened the dual-brand Hampton Inn by Hilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton Indianapolis Canal IUPUI. Located on the Indianapolis Canal Walk and across from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, the property was built around the three-story Bethel A.M.E. Church, which dates to 1869 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The combined hotels have 11,000 square feet of event space including an outdoor rooftop patio. The multiple retail offerings include a Starbucks and McAlister’s Deli that are scheduled to open later this year. Other shared amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, an indoor pool and two outdoor patios with fire pits and a grill for guest use. Homewood Suites guests can attend a complimentary managers reception on Wednesday evenings.

The seven-story building, developed and managed by Sun Development & Management Corporation, has 123 Hampton Inn guestrooms and 108 Homewood rooms and suites for a total of 231 guestrooms and suites. The property is close to IUPUI, the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium.

Ashburn, Va.

The 125-room Tru by Hilton Ashburn One Loudoun has opened in Ashburn, Va. The property, owned by One Loudoun Hotel and managed by Fairbrook Hotels, is within walking distance to local restaurants and entertainment.

Houston

Finally, The Woodlands Resort, 30 miles north of downtown Houston, joined the Curio Collection by Hilton, becoming the soft brand's first resort in Texas.
