Atlanta-based Hotel Equities opened the Island House Hotel Orange Beach – a DoubleTree by Hilton after a multimillion-dollar renovation. Owned by Island House and managed by Hotel Equities, the hotel is located at 26650 Perdido Beach Boulevard, Orange Beach, Ala.
Located on the Gulf Shores and in the heart of Orange Beach, Ala., Island House Hotel Orange Beach – a DoubleTree by Hilton has one of the largest private beaches of any hotel in the area and is the only full-service Hilton hotel on the Alabama Gulf Coast. In addition, each of its 161 rooms has a private balcony overlooking the waters of the Gulf Coast.

The 10-story hotel provides cuisine from chef Brett Breaux at Beachside Bistro & Bar. There, guests can dine on local seafood, and the restaurant specializes in Southern cooking with Cajun and Creole twists, with menu highlights including Oyster Rockefeller Bake, Boudin Egg Rolls and the property’s signature dessert, DoubleTree Cookie-crusted cheesecake with a pecan praline topping. The bar serves regionally-inspired drinks, including the “Island Escape” cocktail and Island House Beach Ale, a locally-brewed craft beer.
While roomservice is available, guests can also access poolside service from Beachside Bistro & Bar, or snacks and other goods from Beach-N-Go, the on-site 24-hour shop. In addition to the warm DoubleTree Cookie welcome, the hotel provides a full complement of services and DoubleTree by Hilton brand amenities, including an on-site Starbucks, full breakfast buffet and an assortment of gourmet in-room tea and coffee offerings by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
The hotel’s amenities include a heated outdoor pool, beach cabanas and loungers, a 24-hour fitness center and guaranteed tee times at nine of the area’s golf courses. Beach goers can also rent boogie boards, kayaks, surfboards and stand-up paddleboards.
With close to 6,000 square feet of meeting and banquet facilities, Island House Hotel Orange Beach – a DoubleTree by Hilton is designed for weddings, business meetings and other gatherings. The Island Ballroom has 3,865 square feet of flexible event space, which is detached from the hotel, creating a private space to accommodate gatherings both small and large. The hotel has a number of audio-visual equipment packages, including the Meetings Simplified by DoubleTree by Hilton packages, which are designed for smaller groups and weddings.
