Hyatt, Red Lion, Hilton open new hotels

Several new properties have opened across the country in recent days.

South Dakota

The new Hyatt Place Sioux Falls is the first Hyatt-branded hotel in the state of South Dakota. The hotel is a joint venture led by Kelly Midwest Ventures and is operated by Kelly Inns.

A short drive from the Sioux Falls Regional Airport and the Denny Sanford Premier Center, Hyatt Place Sioux Falls also is a short drive from many businesses headquartered in the area, as well as many attractions including The Butterfly House & Aquarium, Great Plains Zoo, Delbridge Museum of Natural History, Terrace Park Japanese Flower Garden and more.

Hyatt Place Sioux Falls has 110 guestrooms, a market serving meals, a breakfast bar, a coffee bar and a wine and beer bar. The property also has 1,120 square feet of meeting space and a fitness center.

Texas

RLH Corp. has opened the company’s first dual-branded property: the new-build Red Lion Inn & Suites and Americas Best Value Inn in Katy, Texas. The property’s four floors will alternate between the two brands, with the Americas Best Value Inn brand on odd-numbered floors and Red Lion Inn & Suites on even-numbered floors.

The 624-square-foot meeting room can host meetings and events of up to 50 people.

“The dual-branded concept developed from the desire to have brand recognition while avoiding brand saturation. While the Americas Best Value Inn is notable in Texas, our flagship brand, Red Lion, is less-known in the area but provides additional comforts and amenities guests look for during their travels,” said Dallas Setser, VP of franchise development for RLH.

The Americas Best Value Inn portion of the property will have 26 guestrooms with a mini-fridge and microwave in every room. Common areas include a business center and a laundry room. The Red Lion Inn, meanwhile, will have 37 rooms.

“When choosing a brand for my new construction hotel project, I wanted a brand that guests would recognize in the Houston area, so Americas Best Value Inn was the perfect fit,” said Sam Patel, owner of the property. “Dual-branding allows our guests to rely on the comforts of the well-known ABVI brand while still giving them the option of an elevated hotel through Red Lion Inn & Suites.”

The property is 29 miles west of Houston.

Delaware
