IHG takes Voco to Africa

InterContinental Hotels Group is to open a hotel in Johannesburg under its Voco brand in partnership with Valor Hospitality Partners Africa.

The hotel will be the first under the master development agreement signed between IHG and Valor Hospitality Partners Africa last year.

The agreement will see the pair roll out multiple franchise hotels over the next 10 years, across IHG’s portfolio of brands in midscale, upscale and luxury segments.

A new-build property, the 131-room Voco The Bank, Rosebank, will open in 2020.
