TownePlace Suites by Marriott marks 500th hotel opening

TownePlace Suites by Marriott marks its 500th hotel with the opening of TownePlace Suites Richmond Colonial Heights in Virginia, the state where the brand debuted its inaugural hotel in 1997.

Now, 26 years after its debut, TownePlace Suites has become one of Marriott International’s fastest-growing brands. In addition to the 500th opening this month, the brand has hundreds of additional properties in the development pipeline within the U.S. and Canada.

All TownePlace Suites properties include pet-friendly accommodations, all-suite floor plans, full kitchens, and upgraded outdoor space, TownePlace Suites properties are well-suited to cater to all types of longer-stay guests.

Located just south of Richmond, the 131-room hotel has studio, or one-bedroom suites equipped with high-speed internet, full kitchens, and a customized Elfa closet system from The Container Store, which is available at all TownePlace Suites hotels. On property, there is a complimentary hot breakfast, a full-service lobby bar and premium stainless steel Weber Grills in the hotel’s outdoor patio area, complete with tools, spices and seasoning for guest usage.
