Tulum’s El Pez Hotel opens two on-the-beach rooms

El Pez, a beachfront hotel in Tulum, Mexico, has opened two on-the-beach rooms with heated plunge pools.

The new rooms are literally set on the sand, giving direct access to the Caribbean Sea. Guests staying in the new rooms also have their own private jungle garden courtyard with a plunge pool and an outdoor shower.

Designed by Colibri Boutique Hotels’ interior designer Delfina Porras, the new suites mix local Mayan stone, polished cement, tropical woods, natural Mexican handwoven fabrics and textiles, and a natural color palette.

Each air-conditioned room has a king bed and sofa, a lounge area and bathrooms with double vanities. In one of the rooms, the king bed can be split into twin beds.

Though the rooms also have free Wi-Fi connectivity, a safe and a minibar, the TV-free rooms have large sliding glass doors with beds, lounge areas and plunge pools all situated to allow maximum views of the sea and the surrounding nature.
