3 operators take on new hotels in the South

Four management companies—Olympia Hotel Management, Crestline Hotels & Resorts and Strand Hospitality Services—have agreed to manage new properties.

Developer Harman Realty chose Olympia to operate the upcoming Hyatt Place Harrisonburg in Virginia. The hotel broke ground this month and is expected to open in September 2020. The general contractor is Harman Construction. The property will feature 120 guestrooms, 3,000 square feet of meeting space and an 80-seat panoramic rooftop bar. It is located near James Madison University and a new convocation center currently under construction. Olympia operates 26 properties across the United States, including five other Hyatt-branded properties.

Crestline Hotels & Resorts took over management of Hospitality Investors Trust’s 78-suite Residence Inn by Marriott Tampa North/I-75 Fletcher in Florida. Recently renovated, the hotel features a heated outdoor pool and spa, a fitness center and an outdoor sport court. It is located near the University of South Florida, Florida Hospital Center and Moffitt Cancer Center. Crestline manages more than 17,000 rooms across 117 hotels, resorts and conference centers, including 10 in Florida.

Strand Hospitality Services assumed management of the Hampton Inn Atlanta-Fairburn, its affiliate Southeast Hotel Investments’ first acquired property. The 99-room hotel, to undergo a renovation within the next year, features a fitness center, business center and meeting rooms. It is located 20 miles southwest of Atlanta and 13 miles southwest of the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Strand Hospitality manages more than 35 select- and full-service hotels, including eight Hamptons.
