Crescent adds Populus Denver to portfolio

Crescent Hotels & Resorts adds Populus Denver to its Latitudes Collections portfolio. The 265-key hotel, designed by architecture firm, Studio Gang, marks a notable addition for Crescent, bringing a design-forward, sustainability-driven concept to the company’s management platform.

Populus Denver is a distinctive urban hotel that blends nature-inspired design with environmentally conscious hospitality to put the health of the planet first. The property, which represents the country's first carbon positive hotel, crafts an inspired guest experience through its modern guest rooms and suites; dynamic social areas including flexible meeting and event spaces; and its two distinct restaurants, for an outlet mix well suited to Crescent's strength in operating multi-concept food and beverage programs within lifestyle hotels.

“At Urban Villages, we saw a clear opportunity and responsibility to lead a new chapter in sustainable hospitality as hotels contribute significantly to carbon emissions,” said Jon Buerge, president at Urban Villages, in a Hotel Management story last year.

Crescent’s addition of Populus Denver underscores a broader strategy to expand within the lifestyle and independent hotel segment, where demand continues to grow. The company has been actively targeting properties that combine strong design identity with performance potential in competitive urban markets.

Leaders at Crescent noted that Denver remains an attractive destination due to its steady tourism demand, strong corporate base, and reputation as a gateway to outdoor recreation. The addition of Populus enhances Crescent’s ability to capture diverse traveler segments in the region.

Crescent has continued to grow its third-party management platform in recent years, with a focus on lifestyle, luxury and resort properties. The company has prioritized partnerships with distinctive independent brands while maintaining operational scale across its portfolio.
