Driftwood to manage Hilton Garden Inn's 1,000th property

Driftwood Hospitality Management has assumed management operations and responsibilities for the Hilton Garden Inn San José City Mall, a 149-key hotel in Alajuela, Costa Rica, just outside the country’s capital of San José. The brand's 1,000th hotel worldwide also is DHM’s second international property. The hotel opened in January.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity to further expand our international reach with Hilton Garden Inn’s 1,000th property, a testament to DHM’s track record and trust from industry-leading partners worldwide,” DHM Founder and President David Buddemeyer said in a statement. “As our second property assignment in Costa Rica, we will bring a tailored approach that meets the needs of this market while delivering the high standard of professionalism demonstrated throughout our portfolio.”

Built in 2023, the Hilton Garden Inn San José City Mall is adjacent to City Mall Alajuela. A three-minute drive from SJO International Airport, the hotel has a restaurant, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and a bar lounge.

“The management responsibilities of this new hotel is not just about expanding our portfolio; it's about embracing setting new benchmarks in guest experiences, operational excellence, and community engagement,” added Andrew Stevens, VP of acquisitions and development at Driftwood Hospitality Management. “With our collective expertise and passion for excellence, we're poised to elevate this hotel into a beacon of hospitality innovation and unparalleled service."

Developed by San Pedro Sula, Honduras-based Corporación LadyLee, the property has a range of amenities including multiple meeting rooms, EV charging stations, an outdoor pool and a business center.
