Evolution Hospitality, other companies name new executives

Aimbridge Hospitality appointed John Caparella president of the company’s wholly owned subsidiary Evolution Hospitality. His most recent roles include CEO of VSS Southern Theaters and as principal at Redmont Hospitality, focused on asset management, due diligence, distressed property analysis and management. Before that, Caparella was EVP of venue management for the Madison Square Garden Co. He previously served as president and COO for The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo complex in Las Vegas. Before that, he was EVP and COO for Gaylord Hotels. Caparella's early career included time as a senior executive with Planet Hollywood, where he served as executive vice president of planning, development, and administration. He also spent 17 years with ITT Sheraton, where he served in a variety of general manager and food-and-beverage roles at a variety of hotel locations along the East Coast. 

Sonesta International Hotels Corp.

Vera Manoukian was named chief operating officer at Sonesta International Hotels Corp. In her new role, Manoukian will leverage over three decades of experience to develop and execute operating strategies for its portfolio of branded and managed hotels. She recently served as the global head of the Hilton brand at Hilton Worldwide Holdings, where she led the strategic direction, vision, and growth for nearly 600 properties in 95 countries. Previously, she served as senior vice president of operations for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, where she was responsible for their largest geographic region, including seven brands, 68 full-service and luxury properties and $3.4 billion in annual revenue.

PM Hotel Group

PM Hotel Group promoted Sage Patel to the newly created role of corporate director of capital strategies. In this new position he will be responsible for developing, managing and helping implement programs and projects that support PM Hotel Group's vision, drive improved hotel performance and add owner value. Patel joined PM Hotel Group in 2018 as senior financial analyst—office of the president, partnering on business development, management initiatives and hotel underwriting including structuring, financing, closing and disposition for both acquisition and transition projects. Before joining PM Hotel Group, Patel was an investment banking analyst at BMO Capital Markets.

Peachtree Hotel Group

Peachtree Hotel Group named Jamey Cua vice president of business development for its hotel operations and management division, Peachtree Hospitality Management. In the newly created role, Cua will be responsible for creating growth in third-party management partnerships by leveraging industry relationships and identifying new management opportunities. Prior to joining Peachtree, Cua oversaw Sage Hospitality’s third-party, managed development throughout the U.S. as senior vice president. Previously, he served as vice president of development for Marriott, International and senior director of development for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide

Highline Hospitality Partners

Highline Hospitality Partners, the hospitality investment platform launched by Highline Real Estate Partners, has hired two new managing directors, Charles Bordonaro and Jordan Scheiman. Bordonaro will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating and capitalizing new acquisitions and investments, while Scheiman will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating and capitalizing new debt investments. Bordonaro comes to HHP with over 17 years of experience in the real estate and development industry. He has acquired over $800 million of full-service hospitality assets in primary and secondary markets throughout his career. He has acquired and developed over $5 billion of real estate nationally. Before joining HHP, Scheiman served as a vice president in the investment group of Rockbridge Capital. Additional experience includes director of Garrison Investment Group and VP of Wells Fargo Bank.

Charlestowne Hotels 

Hospitality management company Charlestowne Hotels announced the promotion of Matt Barba to its corporate team as vice president of operations. Barba will now lead Charlestowne’s operational strategy of all property management departments, including food and beverage, for a growing portfolio of 50 hotels. He brings nearly 30 years of hospitality experience to his new role, with the last decade dedicated to expanding recognition for Charlestowne Hotels’ growing management capabilities. His roles included regional director of operations for four years and general manager for the Charlestowne-managed Deer Path Inn in Lake Forest, Ill.
