HEI debuts project-management subsidiary

HEI Hotels & Resorts has launched Ground LVL, a new project-management subsidiary based in Bethesda, Md. The new company is meant to provide “a single, trusted point of contact for owners, developers and investors,” the company said in the launch announcement. The project-management company will be a one-stop shop, overseeing everything from project infancy to planning, execution and hand-off. Team members will specialize in design and construction.

"There was a significant void in our industry to develop a truly best-in-class project-management team that has the vision, commitment and expertise to provide sustainable real estate value from start to finish," Anthony Rutledge, CEO and managing partner of HEI Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement. "Over the last eight months, [President Scott Hammons] has leveraged his unparalleled knowledge and cross-industry relationships to assemble a talented veteran team to design, build and execute on projects that deliver the experiences and results our partners deserve."

“Coming from an owner/operator background, we set out to create the project management firm we always wanted to partner with,” Hammons said. “Our veteran team is experienced with select, full-service, luxury, branded and independent properties, possessing the front- and back-of-house expertise to turn every aspect of an asset into a value creator.”

Most recently, Hammons ran DiamondRock Hospitality’s Design & Construction program of creative repositionings, renovations, building infrastructure investments and capital planning that facilitated a strategy of value-add acquisitions and up-branding repositionings.
