New York, Florida, Utah hotels name GMs

Hotels in Park City, Utah; New York City; and West Palm Beach, Fla., have welcomed new general managers. 

Montage Hotels & Resorts named Joseph Mattioli, a hospitality veteran with more than 40 years' of luxury hospitality and culinary experience, GM of Montage Deer Valley in Park City.

Mattioli previously served as GM of The St. Regis Washington, D.C.; The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe in Truckee, Calif.; and The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland.

Montage Deer Valley features 220 guestrooms and suites; 81 privately owned Montage Residences; 60,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event and meeting space; a 35,000-square-foot spa; and several restaurants, including a pub with bowling lanes and arcade games.

The InterContinental New York Times Square chose Gul Turkmenoglu as GM to oversee its 603 guestrooms and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Turkmenoglu brings nearly 30 years' of hospitality experience with her, including 20 in leadership roles. Most recently, she oversaw operations of Denihan Hospitality Group’s The Benjamin, The Surrey and The James New York-NoMad as regional VP of its luxury portfolio.

The 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach welcomed David Ecija as GM last month. Ecija joined the team from the 503-room Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi in Brazil, where he oversaw a full renovation plan of its lobby, two dining outlets, swimming pool, health club and guestrooms. He brings 20 years' of global hospitality experience to his new role, including 15 with Hilton in Europe, Asia, Latin America and, now, the United States. The Hilton West Palm Beach includes four dining outlets and a pool deck. It is connected to the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
