Radisson Hotel Group named Jim Alderman CEO for the Americas. Alderman, a more than 34-year hospitality veteran, will be based in the company’s U.S. headquarters in Minnetonka, Minn., and will oversee its corporate offices and more than 680 hotels in the Americas.

“Jim is a hospitality executive whose determination and ability to accomplish what he sets out to do is widely known throughout the industry,” Federico J. González, chairman of Radisson Hotel Group’s global steering committee and president/CEO of Radisson Hospitality AB, said in a statement. “As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves daily, Jim will immediately begin to provide guidance and support for addressing the needs of the business in the Americas while continuing to deploy appropriate resources to help maintain a healthy environment for our customers and team members.”

Alderman most recently served as EVP/chief development officer at Extended Stay America, where he started the company’s franchising group. While there, he oversaw new construction and franchise sales for its next-generation product; asset management of its existing real estate portfolio; acquisitions and dispositions; and future redevelopment.

Before ESA, Alderman held senior leadership positions with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Capital, IHG and Ernst & Young.
