Rosewood Hotel Group appoints, promotes new leaders

Rosewood Hotel Group—which includes the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, New World Hotels & Resorts, Khos, Asaya and Carlyle & Co. brands—has appointed Lucy Werner SVP of commercial. In addition, Caroline MacDonald has transferred from the global sales and marketing team to operations as SVP of operations, Americas.

Rosewood also promoted several key team members, including Agnes Park as VP deputy general counsel – global, Tony Chick as regional VP and Stephan Tschuppik as regional VP. The executives will reorganize the team’s structure and bringing their expertise to various areas including sales and marketing, revenue management, operations and legal. 

In her newly created role of SVP of commercial, Werner will oversee global sales and marketing, revenue management and digital performance marketing across all regions in which the group operates in a bid to optimize the commercial sales business across all five brands globally. Werner has more than 20 years of global experience in business development, digital, sales and operations, having previously held senior leadership positions at Google, Spruce Media, adBrite and JP Morgan.

MacDonald will take on the role of SVP of operations, Americas in January 2022, transitioning from her current role as the brand’s group VP of sales & marketing, distribution and business performance. She will oversee the group’s operations in the Americas. She has 25 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, originally joining Rosewood Hotel Group in 2016 as VP of sales and marketing, Americas and Europe. She was promoted to VP of global sales and marketing in 2019, followed by a promotion to her current role in January 2020. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University.

Promotions

Agnes Park has been promoted to global deputy general counsel and VP from her current role as VP – legal for the Americas and Europe, which she has held since July 2019. Park will oversee the legal department in all areas, including development, operations, portfolio management, operations and data privacy. Before joining Rosewood Hotel Group in 2017, Park worked at a number of law firms focusing on mergers and acquisitions and private equity. 

Tony Chick, formerly regional general manager of New World Beijing, has been promoted to regional VP for Rosewood Hotel Group. In this role, he will oversee multiple properties for the upper-upscale New World Hotels & Resorts brand and Khos. Chick joined Rosewood Hotel Group in 2012 as resident manager of New World Beijing and served as general manager to Khos Langfang from 2015 to 2020 before taking on his most recent role. He has more than 30 years of hospitality experience and has worked for a variety of properties, including BC Hotel & Residences Beijing, East Beijing, East Hong Kong, Hyatt Regency Tianjin and The Kerry Centre Hotel, A Shangri-La Hotel.

Serving as managing director since 2018 and appointed later as area managing director, Stephan Tschuppik has been promoted to regional VP for Rosewood Hotel Group. In his role, he will oversee the operations of various properties in the New World, Khos and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts portfolios including Rosewood Guangzhou, New World Saigon, New World Shunde, New World Phu Quoc, Khos Qingyuan and the Hoiana Complex, which includes Hoiana Hotels and Suites, New World Hoiana and Khos Hoiana. A native of Austria, Tschuppik has 25 years of industry experience. In his most recent role, he led the opening of Rosewood Guangzhou in September 2019, the second urban outpost in mainland China for the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts brand. Before joining Rosewood, Tschuppik spent 16 years at the Hyatt group, including management roles at Park Hyatt Saigon and Grand Hyatt Seoul and the preopening and opening of China hotels such as Grand Hyatt Shenyang and Park Hyatt Hangzhou.
