Stonebridge Companies, a Denver-based privately owned hotel owner, operator and developer, has appointed Tom Brinkman as president and COO. In his new role, Brinkman is tasked with driving operational performance and assisting in the execution of the company’s growth strategy. He is responsible for the hotel operations, business development, finance/accounting, sales and marketing, human resources, risk management, information technology and legal departments.
“I am incredibly proud to have Tom on our team, someone I have known personally and professionally for years. His commitment to excellence, broad spectrum of experience and professional demeanor perfectly captures our spirit and culture here at Stonebridge,” Stonebridge founder and CEO Navin Dimond said in a statement. “As Stonebridge continues to expand its footprint and infuse its Distinguished Hospitality at every property, we’re building the best team to execute, elevate and enhance our brand. Tom brings a unique set of skills to our team that will help us accomplish this.”
Brinkman has more than 30 years of experience as an executive with Marriott International. Most recently, Brinkman served as chief development officer for the company's full-service brands in the U.S., where he was responsible for leading development strategies for Marriott’s U.S. full-service development team.
During his career at Marriott, Brinkman led various hotel development teams responsible for its numerous brands, including The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott, The Luxury Collection Hotels, Gaylord Hotels and Resorts, Renaissance Hotels, Autograph Collection Hotels, Westin and Le Meridien Hotels, in addition to holding multiple regional and global management roles.
“I am thrilled to be joining Stonebridge and its evolving collection of hotels nationwide,” Brinkman said. “In my years of working in the hospitality sector, I’ve always respected and valued the vision of Stonebridge. I’m honored to be a part of this innovative company as we grow and continue to diversify our portfolio.”
Brinkman’s appointment follows on the heels of Stonebridge announcing plans to acquire more than $1 billion in hotel assets with a recent investment by TowerBrook Capital Partners and other private investors. Stonebridge has announced plans for significant growth with a focus on third-party management opportunities.
