STR weekly results: April 10-16

Aligned with historical patterns, U.S. hotel performance came in lower during the week of Easter compared with the same week in 2021, according to STR‘s latest data.

For the week of April 10-16 (percentage change from comparable week in 2019):

  • Occupancy: 62 percent (-5.6 percent)
  • Average daily rate: $147.25 (+14.4 percent)
  • Revenue per available room: $91.25 (+8 percent)

In comparison, for the week of April 3-9 (also percentage change from comparable week in 2019):

  • Occupancy: 66.4 percent (-4.7 percent)
  • Average daily rate: $150.45 (+10.6 percent)
  • Revenue per available room: $99.93 (+5.4 percent)

Top Markets

Among STR’s top 25 markets, Tampa, Fla., saw the highest occupancy increase over 2019 (+3.2 percent to 76.6 percent). Minneapolis experienced the largest occupancy decrease from 2019 (-22.7 percent to 46.6 percent).

Phoenix posted the largest ADR increase over 2019 (+33.8 percent to $189.16).

The steepest RevPAR deficits were in Minneapolis (-22.5 percent to $52.66) and Houston (-21.2 percent to $53.94).
