WaterWalk appoints new construction manager, GM

WaterWalk Hotel Apartments, Jack DeBoer’s fifth national brand, hired two team members to facilitate the growth of the brand nationally. One new WaterWalk site recently started construction in Denver, and three additional sites are beginning development in the near future.

Patrick Bauer joined WaterWalk as construction manager. Bauer’s primary responsibility is overseeing the onsite construction process of WaterWalk’s newest location in Denver. The Denver property broke ground in June, and the property is slated to open in summer of 2017.

Bauer has more than 29 years of construction experience. Most recently, he served as project manager at Value Place/WoodSpring Suites, a national extended-stay hotel based in Wichita, Kansas and founded by Jack DeBoer. Bauer’s past responsibilities included managing construction projects from a safety, quality and budget standpoint, and also working closely with subcontractors and vendors throughout the construction process.

Waterwalk has one hotels under construction and three more in the works.

“We are fortunate to have Patrick on our team,” said David Redfern, president of WaterWalk. “His experience working on large-scale construction projects, including our very first WaterWalk, and his ability to deliver projects on time and within budget are extremely valuable to WaterWalk as we grow to over 12 properties in 2017.”

Elizabeth (Beth) Link joins WaterWalk as GM of WaterWalk Hotel Apartments Wichita. She has 19 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has proven expertise in both the hotel and apartment sectors. Most recently, Link served as GM of SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Oklahoma City. Her expertise in sales, revenue management, operations and property management will be an excellent addition to the Wichita property. WaterWalk Wichita opened in November 2014 and ramped-up in six short months and continues to operate consistently at or near full-occupancy.

"Patrick and Beth both bring the talent and skills to WaterWalk that are vital to our growth and vision as a national brand," continued Redfern. "Growing a brand can only be done by first growing a great team, and Patrick and Beth meet our high standards."
