Signia by Hilton debuts flagship Atlanta hotel

Hilton has opened the 976-room Signia by Hilton Atlanta, the first new-build and Georgia hotel for the Signia by Hilton brand and Atlanta’s largest ground-up hotel development project in 40 years.

Inclusive of the property’s debut, Atlanta represents Hilton’s largest market globally by number of hotels with a portfolio of 136 hotels across 13 brands welcoming travelers to the destination. In Atlanta, Hilton has a pipeline of more than 40 hotels in various stages of design and construction.

Poised to become a signature landmark and economic catalyst on the city’s west side, Signia by Hilton Atlanta is owned by Georgia World Congress Center Authority and forms part of the Authority’s Championship Campus, North America’s largest combined convention, sports and entertainment destination, which also includes Georgia World Congress Center, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Centennial Olympic Park. Built on the repurposed foundation of the Georgia Dome, the hotel has eight food and beverage experiences; a spa, beauty bar, rooftop pool and fitness center; more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space, including the largest hotel ballroom in Georgia; a grand outdoor event deck and lawn; and the Club Signia.

“Signia by Hilton offers the world’s best meetings and events, a vibrant atmosphere, exceptional amenities and personalized service catered to the needs of today’s global traveler,” Chris Nassetta, president and CEO, Hilton, said in a statement. “We are excited to introduce this brand to our extensive portfolio in Atlanta, a dynamic destination that continues to play an important role in Hilton’s growth, and are proud of the positive impact this hotel will have on the community through local job creation partnerships and incremental convention and leisure business.”

“Signia by Hilton Atlanta complements our vision for a compact and connected campus featuring a package of facilities unrivaled in any city in the United States,” said Frank Poe, executive director of Georgia World Congress Center Authority. “More importantly, it is a cornerstone of a strategy centered on aligning GWCCA with the evolving needs of its customers while putting Atlanta on the shortlist for the most prestigious live events the industry has to offer.”

“The addition of Signia by Hilton to the GWCCA’s portfolio of venues further strengthens its status as one of the premier destinations in the world for conventions, sports events, and entertainment,” said Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. “As Georgia prepares to welcome iconic events and continues experiencing record-breaking economic growth in the years ahead, this facility is well-positioned to remain a key economic driver for our state. Tourism and the hospitality industry remain some of the largest industries in Georgia, and today’s announcement is another reminder of the Peach State’s success in these key areas.”

Design

Signia by Hilton Atlanta was developed by Boston-based Drew Company, with Gensler as the architect and interior designer, and a joint venture between Skanska and SG Contracting as the general contractor. As the tallest building on the west side of Atlanta, the 42-story, 1.25 million square foot property is enveloped in wall-to-wall glass, offering panoramic views of downtown Atlanta, an inspiring and curated art collection, and inviting spaces.

All guestrooms at Signia by Hilton Atlanta have floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views. The rooms use earth toned-fabrics, wood and rattan textures and brass finishes. The colors and materials are inspired by the building’s  location in the city, paying homage to some of the most historically important and culturally significant neighborhoods in Atlanta. Shades of amber, deep brown, soft beige, and slate blue are meant to evoke a "subtle sophistication" while black and metallic details bring an understated modern twist.

Rest and Recharge

The hotel has 976 guestrooms, including 70 suites, and up to 80 Club Signia rooms, available only as an exclusive guest experience, and additional specialty room types with Peloton bikes in-room and dedicated wellness rooms. Guestrooms have a walk-in rain shower, a  Serta Perfect Sleeper bed, Connoisseur sateen linens, Nespresso machines, NEST amenities, steamers, umbrellas, robes and slippers and custom lighting. The Connected Room feature lets guests control guestroom lights and TV from their mobile device or the TV remote.

Inspired by private membership clubs, Club Signia is a luxury space with a dedicated Club Ambassador, access to Club Signia elevated guestrooms, early check-in and late check-out, premium Wi-Fi and access to the exclusive Club Signia lounge that offers all-day food and beverage offerings including club-style cocktail service, chef demonstrations and made-to-order snacks and small plates.

Some guestrooms have Peloton Bikes in-room and the 11 wellness rooms have amenities centered on Hilton’s wellness pillars—sleep, movement, nourishment, spa and mindfulness—like air purifiers, aromatherapy infusions and a SleepHub.

Culinary Offerings

Director of Food and Beverage Jacob Linzey, Executive Chef Christian Quiñones and Executive Pastry Chef Daniella Lea Rada  oversee Signia by Hilton Atlanta’s eight food and beverage experiences, which serve locally and regionally sourced ingredients.

Signia by Hilton was developed based on meeting-planner feedback, and the hotel has more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including the largest hotel ballroom in Georgia and a flexible social ballroom for smaller events. The property also has three additional boardrooms with Mercedes-Benz Stadium views.

The hotel also has more than 30,000 square feet of outdoor space, including an event deck and an event lawn. Guests have direct access to Georgia World Congress Center via a pedestrian walkway, allowing access to GWCC’s Georgia ballroom and breakout rooms.
