Flos has launched Jasper Morrison’s latest design: Oplight, a “future-proof” wall lamp meant to illuminate a whole room.
The company describes Oplight as resembling a musical note on a pentagram. The light source is a board of LEDs that is covered with a clear but ridged panel that deflects the light away from the wall.
Oplight was developed with sustainability and longevity in mind and to be recyclable at its end of life. No glue was used to assemble the different parts. The clear ridged panel snaps on and off of the body to let users replace the LED board, which was built specifically to be swapped out if needed.
