Functional Aesthetic: Lepal armchair from Arper

The Lepal armchair is made with contrast in mind, balancing a shapely hard shell with soft, layered seating on a slender, angled base. Global design brand Arper unveils the latest creation in collaboration with the British design firm Doshi Levien.

Its elegant geometric structure, curved shell and inner cushions accommodate both upright seating and gentle repose, while having sturdy, yet light support for privacy, ideal for conversation, reading or work across public and private settings. Lepal introduces a cozier, more restful way to approach life in its many forms.

Lepal balances comfort with ergonomics to functional and aesthetic effect. A sculptural profile and soft-cushioned seat create a dynamic contrast with a soft interior space and high curved back, generating a beautiful expressive piece with a strong identity. Designed for any space, the elegant monochromatic look of Lepal has options for single or bi-material upholstery, and a metal or wood base. The collection is FSC-certified and its metal base is powder-coated. Detailed upholstery and internal components are put together without the use of glue, making the product fully disassemblable and ready for recovery and reuse prior to end-of-life recycling.
