LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla.-- An extensive renovation has transformed the popular Buena Vista Palace Hotel & Spa (www.BuenaVistaPalace.com) into a sophisticated destination with newly redesigned guestrooms featuring upgraded furnishings, fixtures and finishes. Orchestrated by Atlanta-based Design Continuum, the enhancement of 1,012 rooms and suites is now complete, with refurbished public space due to debut in June 2007.
Plush new guestroom amenities include LG 32" LCD flat-panel HD televisions; Herman Miller ergonomic chairs; wired and wireless Wayport internet access; new Sealy pillow-top bedding; 250-thread count bed linens; Pacific Coast pillows and duvets; spa-quality robes; completely redesigned baths and closets; new carpet, wall coverings and case goods; designer bathroom amenities; specialty in-room coffee service and digital climate control HVAC. The resort was committed to significant changes in its guest rooms that focused on visitors' comfort while provoking a "wow" response upon entry. The spacious rooms boast darker and richer finishes and textures, and the new color palette of sky blue, light taupe and warm beige perfectly complement the contemporary furnishings. The remodeled baths feature back- lighted mirrors, additional lighting, and frameless glass showers.
Also complete is the new Kook Sports Bar, a casual restaurant/bar offering guests a full lunch and dinner menu plus 40 flat screen televisions for viewing their favorite sporting events.
An extensive transformation of the Buena Vista Palace's lobby is currently underway and due for completion in June. Designed to create an enhanced arrival experience, efficient check-in/check-out process and a more inviting gathering locale, the new lobby will offer a beautiful, highly functional space. The reception desk will be relocated and redesigned to offer a more efficient and customized guest experience, the bell desk will be moved indoors and the concierge desk will be expanded and relocated nearer the reception desk. Large windows with minimal treatments together with new floors and sophisticated finishes create a sleek yet comfortable, chic Florida environment. Once complete, the lobby enhancement will match the caliber of the guestrooms and showcase nuances of the destination with increased natural sunlight, neutral tones accented with a palate of soft tropical colors, and a floor-to-ceiling, freeform floating sculpture of butterflies and birds in flight.
Also slated for completion in late summer is the debut of a new special event space on the 27th floor that will offer six different venue areas with a 360-degree "windows on the world" view of the Orlando skyline. The 10,000- square-foot European spa will also undergo extensive upgrades, with a completion date slated for late summer.
