Houston Marriott completes guestroom, public space upgrades

The Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport in Texas, operated by Atrium Hospitality, has wrapped a seven-month, multimillion-dollar renovation of its guest accommodations, atrium lobby, restaurant, meeting space and fitness center. 

The hotel’s new look incorporates soft blues and grays into the design, along with distinctive artwork and wall installations, upgraded technology and LED lighting.

All of the hotel’s 290 guestrooms, including 50 one-room suites, were upgraded with pillowtop mattresses and custom duvets. 

The hotel has 17,000 square feet of upgraded meeting space, including the largest ballroom south of downtown Houston at more than 11,000 square feet. The venue can accommodate 1,500 in theater style, 1,050 in banquet rounds, 1,000 for a reception and 675 in schoolroom style.

Alpharetta, Ga.-based Atrium Hospitality manages a portfolio of more than 80 hotels in 28 states and approximately 3 million square feet of event space.
