Hyatt Regency Birmingham marks 40 years with new leadership, renovation

The Hyatt Regency Birmingham – The Wynfrey Hotel is marking its 40th anniversary by introducing new leadership, investing in renovations and expanding staff training as part of an effort to boost its meetings and events business.

Earlier this year, Brett DeLoach was named general manager, bringing more than two decades of experience in hotel leadership. DeLoach began his hospitality career as a bellman with Hilton in Philadelphia before advancing through leadership roles across multiple hotel brands.

In addition, the Alabama hotel has also introduced a corporate training program for all employees focused on customer service and operational consistency.

“Our goal is to ensure every guest has an exceptional experience from arrival to departure,” DeLoach said in a statement. “We are focused on reinforcing a culture of excellence and hospitality in everything we do, while recognizing the team members who bring that experience to life every day.”

The property has reopened its rooftop pool following renovations that included updated finishes and new outdoor furnishings. Additional improvements are planned for the hotel's meeting and event spaces, including new carpeting, wall coverings and paint.
