MG2, The Society team up for new treehouses of Skamania Lodge

In Stevenson, Wash., the Skamania Lodge is scheduled to open two new treehouse suites this month. 

MG2 architects designed the new suites, while Invision Construction is the general contractor and The Society is doing the interiors. The Society is a new company started in 2016 by Ankrom Moisan Architects to focus on interior design for hotels, resorts and restaurants.

Located along the banks of the Columbia River Gorge, the new lodges will join the two existing treehouse accommodations at Skamania Lodge. One difference between the new tree houses and the existing ones is that the new ones are designed for families, with a king-sized bed, a nook with a double bed, and a curtain to divide the space. Elevated 15 feet to 20 feet above the ground, the new treehouses will have a rustic design, complete with an outdoor deck, fireplace and bigger-than-usual bathroom.

The treehouses will be located near the lodge amenities, including the Waterleaf Spa, Skamania Lodge Golf Course and dining venues.
