The Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center completed phase one and began phase two of a propertywide renovation. The dual-phased hotel facelift has three main design goals: stress the “resort culture” and its views, enhance the overall look and functionality of meeting rooms and guestrooms and improve the lobby, restaurants and public spaces.
The redesign is spearheaded by architectural firm of O’Kelly + Kasprak, with the new design inspired by the region and elements from the mid-20th century.
In the 386 guestrooms, there are now new Hilton beddings, 42-inch to 50-inch flat screen TVs, iHome clock radios and Keurig coffee makers.
Completed phase one renovation highlights also include: the complete conversion of hotel function room into a new Executive Lounge; refresh of lower level meeting rooms with the new motif embracing the resort’s history and culture with touches like murals of golf scenes and raised ceilings, new break-out stations and pre-function areas with new art and furniture; complete facelift to the 145-seat amphitheater; conversion of lower level hotel bar area and game room into a new indoor golf training facility; and refreshed lounge area that now has repainted pool and walls with stripes and fabrics, new wood decking, furniture, sound proofing and lighting. The fitness center was also upgraded and now has new locker rooms, showers, saunas, equipment, painting and flooring.
The Grille restaurant and bar was also renovated and now has new furniture, bar materials, color scheme, billiards area, a patio with seating and fire pits.
Current phase two renovations, which are expected to be completed by spring 2016, focus on the redesign of all the main floor public spaces, including the lobby/rotundra, café and bar, grand ballroom and a new restaurant.
Located near downtown Chicago in the suburb of Oak Brook, Illinois, the 150-acre property is home to the Audubon certified 18-hole Willow Crest Golf Club.
