Rudy Ricciotti conceptualizes new-build property in Florida's South Beach

Two Roads Hospitality is developing its newest property in Miami Beach, Fla., as part of the Thompson Hotels brand. The project marks the return of Thompson Hotels to the destination and will be one of the new-build properties in the South Beach neighborhood.

Projected to open in 2020, Thompson South Beach is conceptualized by French architect Rudy Ricciotti, who will design the building in harmony with the surrounding landscape of SoundScape Park. It will have a dynamic, undulating exterior.

Developed and owned by Miami-based Finvarb Group, the hotel will have guestrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a rooftop pool, restaurant and bar with views of the surrounding city, the New World Symphony's Wallcast, and the Atlantic Ocean. The property will also have a meeting space.

Thompson South Beach will be located on the southeast corner of 17th Street and Washington Avenue, adjacent to the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center and newly renovated and expanded Miami Beach Convention Center. It will be near Fillmore Miami Beach at The Jackie Gleason Theater music venue and Lincoln Road.
