Commingle:engage to launch service to promote local travel

Commingle:engage, a division of Lodging Interactive, revealed plans to launch a new service next month designed to help hotels book local business opportunities. StayPlayExplore.travel, to be available free of charge to hotels, will offer locally curated content and hotel offers to target staycations and local social event opportunities.

The service will provide each hotel with a unique and property-specific landing page to promote its local attributes—such as things to do, open attractions, open dining options and local experiences. The hotel itself will curate all the local content.

“I believe the hospitality industry will recover in stages, with the first stage being leisure travelers who will be anxious to venture out of their homes once it’s safe to do so,” DJ Vallauri, founder/CEO/president of Lodging Interactive, said in a statement. “Air travel will have a longer recovery period as the consumer’s mindset will need to ‘reset’ that it’s also safe to travel by airplane. Hotel marketers need to plan, now, for the recovery and have strategic tactics to capture as much localized business as possible.”

Each StayPlayExplore.travel hotel page will include links to the property’s social media accounts and the ability for consumers to connect via Facebook’s Messenger service. Lodging Interactive and commingle:engage will provide the landing page platform and all associated hosting and technology services for free.

Properties can visit StayPlayExplore.travel to get on the waitlist for the service, which is anticipated to launch by April 15.

Lodging Interactive provides digital marketing services to the hospitality industry. It is the parent company of commingle:engage, its social media marketing and reputation management division.
