PPDS launches Wave cloud platform

PPDS has launched Wave, a new cloud platform that provides advanced control and management capabilities and opportunities for hospitality displays.

The platform will let AV and IT managers—as well as non-IT focused staff—view status (including screenshots) and access or assign precise information, details and controls to each display. The platform is meant to eliminate the need to go on site to debug and make changes. It also lets users manage any number of accounts and displays across different locations, as well as making bulk updates, updating firmware, debugging screens, adjusting settings, adding basic content and receiving alerts.

At launch, Wave will support Philips SoC signage displays with Android 7 and above, including Philips Q-line, D-Line, T-Line and C-Line digital signage displays. This will be extended to cover PPDS’ range of Philips direct view LED, interactive and videowall displays, as well as professional TVs. This will allow one solution to support multiple platforms allowing integrators to control different display types with the same software and third-party applications to work across different types of hardware without custom development.

“The industry has spoken and with Wave, designed to work hand-in-hand with our Android SoC, we have left no stone unturned," said Franck Racapé, head of global commercial at PPDS, in a statement. "PPDS has evolved from a provider of hardware to an enabler of total solutions, bringing a constantly growing choice of products, software and services to our partners. With Wave, we’re bringing product innovation, out-of-the-box, with a modern, fresh and highly intuitive user experience. With Wave, managing your displays has never been easier.”
