United Kingdom-based Village Hotels installed Shiji's StayNTouch mobile property-management system. StayNTouch gives Village's guests the option of having a fully mobile experience: Guests can skip the line to the front desk and check-in on their mobile phone before they arrive, and request service, amenities and upgrades directly through their smartphone.
The Village Hotels is a "high-tech concept" hotel, creating a modern-day hub for both travelers and the local community. Each property takes inspiration from its surrounding area, marrying design and technology with comprehensive and personalized guest services. Village properties feature state-of-the-art gyms, a hot-desk co-working space called VWorks and a Village Pub and Grill. The newest property in Bristol also features a voice-activated virtual concierge in every bedroom.
“Shiji's StayNTouch guest-facing Zest's sleek design fits seamlessly with our brand's aesthetic and allows our front-desk agents to fully focus on guest needs, rather than back-office administrative tasks,” Village Hotels CEO Paul Roberts said in a statement.
Village plans to expand vigorously in the coming years, growing its collection of U.K. properties to 50 by 2026, and adding five new Village Hotel Clubs by 2020. “Village needs a mobile PMS that can move at the speed and scale of our business," Roberts said. "StayNTouch was able to meet our aggressive implementation schedule, seamlessly migrate our guest data and provide best-of-breed integrations with the services we use most—especially with our booking and revenue-management systems."
