Thailand to get its eighth Pullman hotel

AccorHotels Group has partnered with Thailand-based developer Khaolak Inter to open a new Pullman hotel in Khao Lak, Thailand, according to a TTG Asia report

The Pullman Khao Lak Resort is scheduled to open in 2021 as part of the agreement. The 50-suite hotel will be near Phuket, Phuket International Airport, the town of Takua Pa and the upcoming Phang Nga Airport. Architectural firm Tierra, Design and Hypothesis will design the beachfront hotel, which will have seven villas facing the Andaman Sea, according to a report from The Phuket News.

This will be Accor's second partnership with Khaolak Inter. Their first agreement was for the Novotel Phuket Patong in Thailand in 1996. “This partnership marks an important step for AccorHotels and we are very excited to partner with Khaolak Inter Co., Ltd. to expand our portfolio in Southern Thailand with the Pullman brand,” Patrick Basset, COO of AccorHotels Upper Southeast & Northeast Asia and the Maldives, told The Phuket News. “Pullman represents global nomads of hyper-connected travelers and sophisticated explorers who enjoy combining work and pleasure."

The new Pullman hotel is also Accor's latest addition to its portfolio in Asia-Pacific. The Pullman brand already has more than 70 hotels and resorts with more than 21,000 guestrooms, seven of which operate in Bangkok, Pattaya, Khon Kaen and Phuket in Thailand. New hotels slated to open in the region include the Pullman Mandalay Mingalar in Myanmar, the Pullman Luang Prabang in Laos and the Pullman Tokyo Tamachi in Japan.

Accor announced plans in late June 2018 to open Singapore’s first Pullman hotel. The 342-room Pullman Singapore is slated to open in partnership with EL Development in 2022 after a complete redevelopment of the site. The property will be close to Fort Canning, the Singapore River, and St Andrew’s Cathedral.
