Brick by Brick Capital acquires Wisconsin resort

An affiliate of Chicago-based Brick by Brick Capital, in partnership with hotel operator Life House, has acquired the Four Seasons Island Resort in Pembine, Wis., from Beecher Real Estate. The 70-acre property is both Brick by Brick Capital’s and Life House’s first hotel in Wisconsin and the first of several planned properties across the Upper Midwest. The partners did not disclose the purchase price.

Originally built in 1905 by the Wisconsin-Michigan Railroad Co., the resort is located on Miscauno Island on the Menominee River, the natural border separating Wisconsin from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Amenities at the hotel will include four dining options, a nine-hole golf course, wedding and conference facilities, an indoor pool, a fitness room, an arcade, pontoon boat tours, cross country ski rentals, tennis and volleyball courts.

“We are thrilled for the opportunity to operate the historic Four Seasons Island Resort, a local favorite in the Wisconsin-Michigan area,” said Josh Siebert, director of acquisitions for Life House. “We look forward to taking the reins on day-to-day operations while preserving the authentically local experience that guests have enjoyed since the early 1900s.”

Life House and its investment partners are seeking acquisition opportunities throughout the Midwest, with a specific focus on acquiring hotels with less than 200 keys in drive-to leisure markets.
