Aloft Philadelphia Downtown hotel officially opens

Aloft Philadelphia Downtown, a contemporary hotel in the former Liberty Title & Trust Building, officially opened Aug. 31, 2017. Located on North Broad Street in the Center City District and directly connected to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the hotel is designed for leisure and business travelers, and is also positioned as a local hot spot.

The hotel offers 179 loft-inspired guestrooms, each with their own distinct look and layout ranging up to 423 square feet. The hotel also includes large-scale windows and 9-foot loft-style ceilings. Guestrooms include platform beds, free Wi-Fi, 42 inch LCD TVs, coffee, custom bath amenities by Bliss Spa, walk-in showers and more.

In addition to offering direct access to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Aloft Philadelphia Downtown’s central location provides a gateway to the city’s neighborhoods, business district, nightlife and restaurants. Situated one block from City Hall, the property is also steps from Reading Terminal Market, Independence Hall, Philadelphia’s Museum Parkway and the LOVE statue.

Guests can mix and mingle over signature cocktails, local beers, wines by the glass and a full menu inspired by both Philly favorites and international flavors at the 120-seat W XYZ bar located within the restored former historic banking hall. Sip on the Bourbon Strawberry Smash or one of the local brews on draft such as Philadelphia’s own Yards Brewing Company, as well as dishes like Cheesesteak Egg Rolls with Sriracha ketchup, Tater Tot Poutine and Tuna Poke. Guests can socialize inside or step outside to the adjacent Backyard, the hotel’s al fresco terrace overlooking the city. The outdoor area has comfortable seating options, a firepit, outdoor bar, music and ambient lighting.

W XYZ will also include live music with local Philadelphia talent and emerging musicians as part of the Live at Aloft Hotels music program series. One of the first artists to hit the stage is country music star Drake White, part of the nationwide 2017 Live at Aloft Hotels Tour. Plus, each month W XYZ will offer a drink or food special so culinary aficionados can mingle for a cause, as a portion of profits will be donated to a charitable organization.

Hotel guests will find plenty of other perks, including 24/7 access to the Re:charge fitness center, located in the former bank vault; a luxe Re:mix lounge with complimentary WiFi; and a grab-and-go Re:fuel by Aloft marketplace equipped.

The 1,200 square feet of function and event space, including Exchange (644 square feet), Tactic (582 square feet) and an outdoor terrace in the Backyard (800 square feet) are available for hosting events. The spaces include free WiFi, 60-inch flat-screen TVs with laptop hookup, DVD players and A/V equipment.
