Hilton's Canopy brand makes Canada debut

Hilton, Easton’s Group of Hotels and The Gupta Group have opened the Canopy by Hilton Toronto Yorkville, marking the brand's Canadian debut. Design of the 184-room hotel was overseen by Studio Munge.

In a nod to its location between Yorkville and Rosedale, the property pairs oak features with copper accents to highlight the connection between nature and cosmopolitan life. Guestrooms also incorporate the brand’s canopy bed while public areas include an indoor pool, a fitness center that incorporates local street art, a transfer lounge and 3,500 square feet of meeting space. Canopy Central, the hotel lobby, has layered interiors, curved edges and organic motifs alonng with a local art collection.

Under the leadership of Executive Chef Justin Raponi, the hotel will have two on-site dining options, Día and Virtu Café & Provisions.

Yorkville is one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods with shopping, dining, cultural attractions and events like the Toronto International Film Festival. Rosedale has local celebrations like the annual Mayfair springtime festival. Canopy Toronto Yorkville is a short distance from some of the city’s most notable attractions like the Royal Ontario Museum, Gardiner Museum and Casa Loma. The hotel is close to the Sherbourne subway station, connecting guests to the Greater Toronto area.
