Chicago gets first Moxy Hotel designed by Flick Mars and DLR Group

Marriott International has opened the Moxy Chicago in the city's River North neighborhood. Developed by White Lodging and Friedman Properties, and managed by White Lodging, the 156-guestroom hotel is located on the corner of Grand Avenue and LaSalle Drive.

Texas-based Flick Mars and global integrated design firm DLR Group were both involved in the design of the property.

The lobby has industrial-chic communal spaces with a mix of modern and vintage-inspired furniture and light fixtures. The lobby also has Bar Moxy, serving as the "front desk" where guests check in, receive their room key and sip a complimentary cocktail. In the evening, the bar becomes a party venue with DJs and the Moxy SoundOff booth.

High-tech guestrooms features include 49" Smart TVs.

For dining, Moxy Chicago Downtown has Zombie Taco, a 24-7 food truck-inspired concept.

The hotel is the 29th Moxy Hotel to open globally and the seventh Moxy Hotel in the US.
