Staypineapple adds to business development team

Staypineapple Hotels, which manages the 10 Staypineapple hotels across the U.S., added Austin Gardner to the organization’s business development team.

“Over the past year, Staypineapple Hotels has been diligently working towards the expansion of the brand’s portfolio through licensing our brand along with property management services,” Dina Belon, president of Staypineapple Hotels, said in a statement. “As we prepare for this exciting time of growth for the company, we are thrilled to welcome Austin to the team. His impressive background and experience with hotel acquisitions and boutique property development will be instrumental as we look to bring the Staypineapple brand to our fellow hoteliers as a new and disruptive hotel flag option.”

Gardner has more than 13 years of hospitality sales and marketing experience, specifically working with independent brands in the upscale and luxury hotel segments. Most recently, Gardner was regional vice president of sales for Oxford Collection Hotels, where he conducted key negotiations and led the sales organization, generating nearly $1 billion in revenue during his tenure. In addition to his work leading the sales efforts for Oxford Collection, Gardner helped expand the company’s hotel portfolio by more than 30 percent through involvement in strategic acquisitions and ground-up development projects.

At the Americas Lodging Investment Summit in Los Angeles, Gardner will join members of Staypineapple Hotels’ executive leadership team as they present the organization’s brand licensing and property management capabilities.
