Thoughtful engineering: Contourz collection by Lunada Bay Tile

Introducing the new Contourz three-dimensional and flat field concrete tiles from Lunada Bay Tile. Contourz was designed by Feras Irikat, director of design and marketing at Lunada Bay Tile, who worked on the collection’s flat field and three-dimensional design in collaboration with Lunada Bay Tile president and CEO Carl Steadly and Mike Taylor, an engineer.

Contourz concrete tiles measure eight millimeters thick, allowing the concrete tiles to be used in combination with other tile collections for a mixed media effect. The Contourz collection was deliberately designed to coordinate with Lunada Bay Tile’s glass collections.

Designed and manufactured in Lunada Bay Tile’s facility in Southern California, the collection consists of three rectangular field tiles measuring 3 inches by 3 inches, 3 inches by 6 inches and 3 inches by 9 inches; Fanfare Hex, a three-dimensional form made up of symmetrical surfaces folding onto one plane to form a 4-inch hexagonal base; and Flayme, a rectangular tile with flame-like elevations; Trifecta, a triangular tile with elevated, sloped curves; and Zen Break, a three-dimensional sloping rectangular tile. The collection is rounded out with two liners: Retro Curve, which has a soft bullnosed edge; and Char Liner, which uses a bullnosed edge on one side and a cove edge on the other.

Contourz is available in 18 earth-toned shades, including grays and shades of taupe and brown. Other colors are available via special order.
