Austin Proper Hotel & Residences eyes Jan. 15 opening

Austin Proper Hotel & Residences is slated to open in Austin, Texas, on Jan. 15 with 244 rooms and suites, and 99 luxury Proper-brand for-sale residences.

Designed by interior designer Kelly Wearstler, the property is influenced by the area’s Craftsman-style homes. It will similarly pay homage to Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts motifs, joinery techniques, textures and materials.

New dining concepts will be overseen by Austin locals Larry McGuire and Tom Moorman of McGuire Moorman Hospitality. These will include a ground floor Mediterranean-inspired grill, coffee shop and café with take away options, two cocktail bars and a poolside Mexican eatery with dishes prepared on a wood-burning grill.
