My Place begins construction on first South Carolina hotel

The Palmetto State is welcoming its My Place location with the development of My Place Hotel-Greenville, S.C. Construction is underway at 11 Ketron Court, where the four-story, 85-unit hotel will be built. Owners Aaron Lawson and Daniel Pretorius announced their next franchise location at the grand opening celebration for their first My Place Hotel, which opened in March near Boise, Idaho. Pretorius said the Greenville location will be similar to their first— specifically, it will be located near dining, retail and entertainment options.

“We picked this location for its activity, community values and spirit of hospitality, which were all demonstrated by the support Greenville showed us today,” Pretorius said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to call Greenville home to South Carolina’s first My Place Hotel and look forward to introducing the community and its guests to a high quality lodging experience at the best value.”

My Place Hotel-Greenville, S.C., is independently owned by M.P. Greenville, where Lawson and Pretorius are joined by Gordon Telford, Jr. and Gary Lochbaum. Lawson and Liam Hough’s company, Celtic Services, is heading construction on their second My Place project this year.  Greenville’s newest hotel is projected to open spring of 2018.

"Today we congratulate Aaron, Daniel, Gary, Gordon and their families on a meaningful milestone,” Terry Kline, My Place EVP of franchise sales and development, said in a statement. “We are honored to work with a group as passionate and dedicated as M.P. Greenville, who is sure to hit another home run with this location.”

All My Place Hotels offer modern amenities, and each extended-stay guestroom includes a My Kitchen complete with a two-burner cooktop, a microwave and a full refrigerator. The property is pet friendly, includes on-site laundry facilities, complimentary high speed internet service and a 24-hour My Store, located in the hotel lobby and stocked with supplies.
