Melín Castro designs Tequila & Mezcal Bar at Grand Velas Los Cabos

The Grand Velas Los Cabos in Mexico has opened its new Tequila & Mezcal Bar.

Created by interior designer Melín Castro of Melín Castro Designs, the bar highlights the property’s natural environment, with a panoramic view of the ocean immediately catching the attention of guests upon entering the venue. Marble, granite, walnut woods, crystals and wallpaper in earth colors are balanced with warm tones to harmonize with the colors of the Sea of Cortez and the hotel’s abundant purple and fuchsia bougainvillea.

The venue has a terrace with pocket window walls that transforms the space into an extension of the outside. Works of art by Oaxacan artist Rosendo Pinacho are on display.

Grand Velas Los Cabos on Mexico’s Baja Peninsula has 307 ocean view suites, all measuring over 1,180 square feet with private terraces and some with personal plunge pools. Duplex wellness suites have designated fitness amenities. The property has five gourmet restaurants; a 16,370 square foot convention center with the capability for 20 breakout rooms; 35,000 square foot Se Spa with 16 treatment rooms and hydrotherapy facility; three pools; and pool and beach concierges. Soon to open is a gallery of contemporary art.
