Several hotels—including the first Hawaiian property in Hilton's Curio collection—and companies have appointed sales and marketing leaders in recent weeks. Here are some names to know.
Hale Hōkūala Kauai, Curio Collection by Hilton
The upcoming Hale Hōkūala Kauai, Curio Collection by Hilton, has settled its sales and marketing leadership team ahead of the resort’s expected December opening, which will also mark the arrival of the soft brand in Hawaii. Stacy Manzo was appointed director of sales and marketing alongside Senior Group Sales Manager Fred Matthews, Leisure and Transient Sales Manager Tyrus Kupihea and Senior Marketing Manager Samantha Tsui.
Manzo joined the project following her role as director of sales and marketing from Koloa Landing Resort, and previously held a similar role at Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach. She has overseen brand positioning, market entry strategies and long-term revenue growth in different hotels. She also held early roles in resort operations and vacation travel.
Matthews has more than 20 years of hospitality experience across group and transient markets in Hawaii, Chicago, Seattle and the Carolinas. Matthews was born and raised in Hawaiʻi. His career includes senior sales leadership roles, where he managed large‑scale group programs, high‑volume room blocks and meeting and convention portfolios. Matthews also worked with ConferenceDirect and Summit Hospitality Group.
Kupihea has experience in front office operations, destination sales and guest-experience leadership within Hawaii’s resort market. He most recently worked at the Royal Sonesta Kauai, where he held roles including front office manager, destination sales manager and rooms manager. His previous experience includes leadership positions with Roberts Hawaii and Royal Star Hawaii Motorcoach Tours & Destination Services, supporting group services, tour operations and large‑scale visitor programs statewide.
Before joining the resort, Tsui held marketing and communications roles supporting destination-driven communities, large-scale development projects and agency clients, where she led integrated marketing programs, media relations digital strategy and executive communications.
Kimpton EPIC Hotel
Kimpton EPIC Hotel, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, appointed Ivette Davalos director of sales and marketing. Davalos originally joined Kimpton EPIC Hotel as a member of its opening team, where she spent nine years helping shape the property’s identity and positioning.
Most recently, Davalos she spent eight years as director of sales & marketing at The National Hotel Miami Beach.
McKibbon Hospitality
McKibbon Hospitality has promoted Katie Stephens to sales manager for its Asheville properties, including Kimpton Hotel Arras, Moxy Asheville, AC Hotel Asheville Downtown and Aloft Asheville Downtown as well as their onsite restaurants, Bargello, District 42, Wildwood Still and Capella on 9.
Stephens most recently was guest service manager at Moxy Asheville where she helped oversee the hotel’s opening in August 2024. She previously held positions at Aloft Asheville Downtown and Hilton Downtown Asheville.
Mill Falls Resort Collection
In New Hampshire, the Mill Falls Resort Collection—Church Landing, Bay Point, Chase House, and Palmer Inn—named Pipere Sailer director of sales and marketing,
Sailer returns to New Hampshire after more than seven years with Vail Resorts, where she was senior national sales manager with a focus on the Northeast Region, supporting Mount Snow, Okemo, Stowe, Hunter and Mount Sunapee. She began her career at Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury, N.H.
