M&R Hotel Management has picked Christopher Beyer as its new regional general manager for its Midwest portfolio. Beyer, with 29 years of experience within the hospitality business, will oversee nine managed hotels in Indiana, Missouri and Illinois.

The company’s Midwest collection comprises the 60-room Fairfield Inn Indianapolis South, 99-room Hampton Inn Anderson and Courtyard Indianapolis South in Indiana; the 96-room Hilton Garden Inn Joplin, 62-room Fairfield Inn Joplin and 89-room Hampton Inn Joplin in Missouri; and the 62-room Fairfield Inn St. Louis Collinsville, 101-room Hampton Inn Mt. Vernon and 89-room Hampton Inn Marion in Illinois.

Since 2011, Beyer has served as GM of the Hilton Garden Inn Joplin, a position he will continue to hold in his new role. Before that, he worked as general manager for the Fairfield Inn and the former Baymont by Wyndham, both in Joplin. Going further back, he served as night auditor, guest services representative and general manager-in-training at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Joplin. Beyer attended Missouri Southern State College, where he studied accounting.

“Christopher Beyer brings to bear nearly three decades of experience to the oversight of our Midwest portfolio,” Brian McSherry, chief operating officer for M&R, said in a statement. “He is both an effective manager and a mentor to our team in that region.”

M&R’s portfolio comprises 25 properties. It manages properties for Marriott International, Hilton, InterContinental Hotels Group, Choice Hotels International, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Best Western Hotels & Resorts and has been certified by Hyatt Hotels Corporation for selected brands.
