San Diego's Keating Hotel appoints new GM

The Keating Hotel, a historic property located in San Diego, appointed Adam Della Rocca to GM. The hotel is operated by San Diego-based hotel management company RAR Hospitality.

“We are very excited to have Adam lead our team of talented hospitality professionals,” said Eddie Kaen, owner of The Keating Hotel. “His diverse experience and fresh perspective will allow for The Keating Hotel to continue thriving as in the San Diego market and hospitality industry.”

Della Rocca oversees all aspects of the hotel; hiring and training of new staff, managing the property’s 16 employees, maintaining the 125-year old building, driving sales and inspiring guest service for the property’s modernized 35 rooms. His goal is to continue to guide the Pininfarina-designed hotel’s status as an icon in Downtown San Diego.

Della Rocca brings nearly 10 years of hospitality experience from international hotels in Central America and the United Kingdom including The Wheatley Arms and Popa Paradise Beach Resort. Prior to joining RAR Hospitality and The Keating Hotel team he was GM of the Surfer Beach Hotel in San Diego.

“I believe that my different experiences with hotels around the world fuels a creative vision that blends well with the style, uniqueness, and excellence associated with The Keating Hotel,” Della Rocca said. “The Keating is an integral part of downtown San Diego and I am honored to be a part of such an exciting brand.”

The Keating Hotel is located in the heart of the Gaslamp district of San Diego and utilizes an adaptive reuse of space and urban renewal concepts to transform the historic building into the hotel it is today. RAR Hospitality assumed management of The Keating Hotel in 2014 and has been a key element in The Keating Hotel’s success. The Keating Hotel offers access to local attractions such as The San Diego Zoo, The San Diego Convention Center and Petco Park among others.
