Thompson San Antonio - Riverwalk appoints new F&B leaders

Thompson San Antonio - Riverwalk has appointed two people to lead food-and-beverage operations at the new hotel. The duo will guide the vision and management of the hotel’s F&B programs. The recent appointments were Carlos Batista as director of food and beverage and Tanner Johnson as director of bars and beverage.

Batista is a hospitality professional with over two decades of experience. Originally, he began his career with Starwood Resorts, ultimately working as F&B manager and director at various luxury properties in California, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia and Florida. Most recently he served as director of food and beverage at the Shore Club Hotel in South Beach Miami, Fla.

Johnson brings over a decade of mixology and food-and-beverage hospitality experience. In this position, Johnson will lead beverage operations for the hotel’s banquets, restaurant and bar destinations, including Landrace and The Moon’s Daughters. Recently, he was the assistant director of food and beverage at Kimpton Shorebreak Resort in Huntington Beach, Calif., where he managed four food-and-beverage outlets.
