Several hospitality companies have promoted and appointed new executives in recent days.  

Atrium Hospitality

Atrium Hospitality has promoted Larry Cooper to VP, operational strategies - Eastern Region. He is responsible for developing and implementing operations strategies to enhance the performance and value in his assigned portfolio of Atrium-managed hotels in the Eastern Region. He will report to COO Chris O’Donnell. Since 2018, Cooper has served as regional director, operations for Atrium, overseeing four hotels with 846 keys in Arkansas. 

HEI

HEI Hotels & Resorts has promoted Jeremy See to chief commercial officer. A longtime associate with the company, See joined HEI’s manager-in-training development program in 2009. He served several on-property revenue roles in hotels in Boston and Detroit before being promoted through HEI’s revenue management organization. His roles over the past 12 years have included regional VP of revenue and later SVP of revenue management, a title he has held since 2020. In his role as chief commercial officer, See will be responsible for overseeing HEI’s sales and revenue management disciplines, driving top-line business and maximizing the revenue potential of all HEI-managed hotels. 

Mainsail

Mainsail Lodging & Development has appointed Susan Marlow as chief people officer; Denis Cruz as corporate director of retail; and Vicente Lavayen as corporate director of beverage. The three have assumed their newly created executive positions at the Tampa-based hospitality company. 

Before joining Mainsail, Marlow was most recently VP of human resources and talent acquisition for Welbilt. In her new role, Marlow is responsible for the overall strategic direction of Mainsail’s human resources including talent acquisition, retention, training, compensation and benefits programs, leadership development and maintaining Mainsail’s culture. 

With more than 20 years of retail experience in the hospitality industry, Cruz joins Mainsail from the South Seas Island Resort, where he was director of retail. In the newly created position of corporate director of retail for Mainsail, Cruz will plan and direct strategies for delivering inventory to on-property retail outlets and carefully curating products for each property in Mainsail’s portfolio. Cruz has worked for the Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott and Loews brands.

Lavayen began his career with Mainsail in May 2019, bringing with him more than two decades of food and beverage experience to Tampa’s Epicurean Hotel. In his new role on the corporate team, Lavayen will support Mainsail’s entire portfolio while maximizing beverage supplier partnerships. Lavayen is a former managing partner of South Tampa’s On Swann, where he developed beverage programs for it and another new restaurant, Oak & Ola.
